Kikukawa Kogyo has decided to use for commercial purposes, on a trial basis, two electric powered motorcycles.

The electrical power to recharge the motorcycles, comes from the solar car port powered by solar panel batteries that Kikukawa Kogyo has developed, which will realize zero energy cost for the motorcycles.

The electric motorcycles come from Scootech Japan Inc., which sells with in Japan, the made in China scooters. Certified power output is 600W, maximum speed per hour is 40 km, and maximum driving distance is approximately 30 to 40 km.

Rental to employees for commuting or for private use will help lessen CO2 out put and lessen the use of fuel.

We are also developing a 'cycle station' to recharge the electrical motorcycles and motor assisted cycles using solar powered batteries.

For information concerning the electric motorcycles and/or the cycle station, please contact our Technical Development Division at +047-492-0144.

On April 7, 2009, the Solar Power Generator System installation meeting was held at our Shirai Factory.

At this announcement meeting NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) was present for the field test, followed by our report for the Solar Power Generator System and the explanation of our environmental activities concerning the surrounding area.

The Solar Power Generator System installed at our factory uses a 'Concentrated Ball Silicon Cell'. The silicon usage is only a quarter of a typical cell, which leads to low cost and low natural resource usage. This new type of Solar panel is getting noticed.

We were able to invite from Chiba, Shiraishi, Shiraishi Industrial Association and many other people and explain to them about our environmental activities.
