Round-Column Panels integrated with Store Fixtures – TUMI Ginza
We are pleased to announce a successful completion of the renovation project for TUMI Ginza in November 2024
TUMI, an international travel and lifestyle brand founded in the U.S. in 1975, reopened its Ginza store which now boasts the largest retail space in Asia. KIKUKAWA fabricated and installed decorative steel panels for two round columns inside the store.

The curved steel panels, finished in metallic grey paint and featuring the brand’s signature perforated “T” patterns enhanced by lighting effects, were precisely installed on the round columns measuring 1.7 meters in diameter and 3.6 meters in height.

The most critical challenge of this project was achieving highly precise installation to ensure the seamless joints with no light leakage. Adding to the complexity, one of the two round columns near the store entrance had been constructed with a 9-degree tilt. Thanks to preliminary assembly and adjustments at our factory, on-site installation was carried out smoothly and without any issues.
The column at the back of the store features three box-shaped decorative display shelves. Each shelf, measuring 550mm in width, 550-750mm in height, and 300mm in depth, was fabricated from bent steel with a painted finish. Designed to fit perfectly into the round column panels, the shelves were installed with exceptional accuracy – earning high praise from the client for their craftsmanship.

At KIKUKAWA, we work on the facades and interiors of various brand-name retail stores. We offer bespoke solutions that accommodate original design concepts, including fixture-integrated panels like the ones shown here.
