KIKUKAWA’s Architectural Metalwork Featured at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai

Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is being held from 13 April to 13 October 2025, on Yumeshima Island in Osaka. As a global event celebrating innovation and culture, the Expo features numerous buildings with cutting-edge construction methods and distinctive architectural designs. We highlighted several Expo-related projects where KIKUKAWA’s expertise and products have been selected.

■Monaco Pavilion

For the Monaco Pavilion, we fabricated curved stainless steel exterior panels featuring two surface finishes—mirror polish and hairline—to showcase intricate designs, including the pavilion’s country name signage and decorative line patterns.

■Water Plaza Installation

We installed metal panels on a gate-shaped structure approximately 20 metres tall. The mirror-finished side panel, made from highly corrosion-resistant duplex stainless steel, were polished with meticulous process control to achieve a flawless reflective surface.

■East Gate North Bus Stop

We produced an egg-shaped bus shelter clad with Phozinc steel panels. To meet the challenges of the complex 3D geometry and tight delivery schedule, we made extensive use of 3D modelling, ensuring high precision in both fabrication and installation.

■Hydrogen Fuel Cell Ship “MAHOROBA”

Our Minamo panels (Water Ripple Panels) were installed in the interior of MAHOROBA, a hydrogen-powered passenger ship that operates between central Osaka and the Expo venue. Inspired by the gentle ripples of water, the panels complement the futuristic interior design theme of fluidity and motion.

Participating in this globally significant event has been a valuable opportunity for KIKUKAWA to demonstrate the capabilities of our custom architectural metalwork. We remain committed to embracing new challenges and turning imaginative architectural visions into reality through our bespoke decorative metal solutions.
