Bullet Train Upcycled as Interior Decorations for a Mall, Tokyo Gift Palette

December 3rd, 2020 – Kikukawa released the following newsletter in Japanese.

-Summary of the newsletter-
Kikukawa, a bespoke architectural metalworker announced its involvement with the upcycling of 700 series Shinkansen (bullet trains) to building materials for Tokyo Gift Palette, a shopping mall that opened in August at Tokyo Station’s Yaesu North Gate. This upcycling attempt is the first in the history of recycling Shinkansen cars, given its difficulty to separate the material from other layers such as paint or sound insulation materials.
