■Bright Anodized Panels Complementing Glass Curtain Walls

Furukawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd., specializing in the planning, manufacturing, and sales of production systems utilizing industrial robots, relocated its headquarters to Ota City, Gunma Prefecture. We contributed to the construction of their new headquarters building located within their factory premises. The completed building is a five-story, box-shaped office structure with a glass facade on the east side and a bright anodized aluminium panel exterior on the west side. KIKUKAWA handled the installation of these panels, delivering panels with a gentle sheen that harmonizes beautifully with the brightness and transparency of glass curtain wall.

■Bright Anodized Finish That Softly Reflects the Scenery

The west side of the building exterior is covered with 170 cut panels of bright aluminium, treated with electrolytic polishing and silver anodizing. This unique metal finish was chosen for its gentle sheen, which softly reflects surrounding views—a feature the client specifically requested. We proposed multiple sample finishes with different gloss levels, and clients were able to inspect large samples during a factory visit to select their preferred finish. The standard panel size is approximately W1,200mm × H4,000mm, matching one floor in height, with 12mm-wide joints aligned vertically and horizontally for a unified look with the building’s box shape and grid-like glass window frames. Although the large panels were heavy, we maintained clear communication with the construction team from the project’s early stages, ensuring smooth lifting and installation.
